Kerry McLachlan

I’m Kerry, a printmaking artist from Tokai, Cape Town. I create my work by using the very traditional techniques of wood and lino block carving. The images of the subjects are drawn, then transferred onto the blocks, which I then carve. I love this technique, because every time i make a print there will be slight variations which make them all unique.

In this collection, my inspiration comes from our beautiful South African wildlife. I love to capture each of the animals’ characters, from the regal stare of ‘Cecil the Lion’ to the humorous ‘Zebra Bums’.
