Jo-Anne Pentz

Jo-Anne Pentz is a Cape Town based artist who enjoys creating art, photography and travelling. She is inspired by her surroundings and memories.

Jo-Anne’s art journey started late in life. She has learnt her skills from attending parttime courses, art lessons and workshops. Recently retired from mechanical engineering she now focusses her attention on her creativity.

She loves the beauty and vibrancy of Cape Town and South Africa, its people, animals and diverse culture. She refers to her art as “moments in time” as many exhibits are done en plein air or from her own photographs. Referencing her photographs allows her the opportunity to relive the many sights, smells, emotion, culture and beauty of special moments. Jo-Anne’s preferred medium is oil painting. Her favourite genre is figures.

Jo-Anne is a member of various art societies. She is currently chairlady at Constantiaberg Art Society. She exhibits regularly in group exhibitions at the Richard Crowie Hall, Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden and various venues in and around Cape Town.
